The cf card for my camera has got an error on it, how can I recover the data

Hi I'm intended to buy a data recovery software which I can use on any computer when in need but I'm not sure which software is good and I can use it on any computer I want. Most importantly the software must be able to retrieve data from formatted PC, not those files deleted by recycle bin. It would be best if it include others as well. Any suggestion?

I'm trying to recover all the information that I've saved for years in my 500 GB external hard drive and right now I'm going through the recovery process but its taking a looooong time... I waited 16 hours just for the software to find all the lost data and now its saying it will take another 10 hours just to recover it... Is it something normal?... Is this how the software works???... I have to say that I'm trying to recover 180 GB of data... Can anyone help me plz...

I do not want to restore all the information that was backed up and i'm selecting specific files to restore, but i can't find my firefox bookmarks and passwords that were there. i'm running os x 10.5.5 with firefox 3. any help would be greatly apprecaited. thanks also if anyone knows how would i restore my adium, fetch.... (basically how do i restore all my old settings after restoring the applications)?

Windows XP - I had to run my System Recovery Disc, after having major problems with my laptop. All is ok now but I need to restore my orginal documents folders. The system as saved these on my C-drive in a folder called My Backup.... But I dont know how to reinstall these folders programmes... Please can anyone let me know how I go about this....??

please tell me about a software,that will recover all my data( after formation of hard disc) with the same file names. My brother has used a software to recover data but not with the same file name, if there is no software that can recover data with same file name then tell me which software is best for data recovery. Hi All, I have a Maxtor One Touch Pro 3 ( 750MB) External Hard drive that is now not responding. The USB detects it. The Maxtor Manager( an app which came with the drive) says, no drive detected sometimes and other times tells me that it needs to be formatted and when I test drive, it tells me that it needs service. I'm an Electrical Engineering graduate student, and this drive contains a lot of sensitive research work data on it. I can't afford to give it to a company to salvage the data for me. Can somebody please suggest help me with few data recovery tools available online for free. Something that works. I tried using TestDrive. The tool wont even detect my external drive (but windows can). I tried another tool called PC Inspector file recovery, it doesn't either search or scan for USB external drives. Can somebody help me on this. Has anyone experienced a similar situation before? Thank you very much. ( I'm sorry if I sound distressed)

hi.... i got a pc P4 256 ram 80GB HDD, the problem is i have 2 partion for NTFS format,now the C: drive is formated in FAT32 , and installed new OS xp and D: drive is not formated when i open D drive get the message The disk in this drive is not formated? do you want to format ? i got afford to lose the data.... it is very very important to me.....or i can only sit and cry...... please some one help........ So, if I had, lets say, 7 hard drives that were part of an array (raid-5) and the controller card went out. Would I have to take turns hooking each of the 7 HDDs to an external hard drive and download the content onto thet computer that has the data recovery software for it to do its magic? how does this work? Eyaaaaaah, I didn't see anything about software useage as an option there.....thanks!

I bought the seagate go external hard drive and it has crashed on me twice. I do not want to reformat it. I'm just looking for a free data recovery program.

my hdd went into RAW and with ParitionMagic i got it to go back to fat32 (which i know is inferior to NTFS, but this is the way i originally got the drive). but my files disappeared and when i look at how much space is used it says 100% free. however, if i use GetDataBack or whatever, i can see the files perfectly and none are corrupt. how do i make the files view like it would had the drive not been reformatted? i don't have anywhere to copy the files elsewhere and burning so many cds is too time consuming (and cds are an archaic method imho)
